“I-I… Oh hello Onyx,” she said nervously. “Funny seeing you here. And of course, in black as usual. You actually come out in the daytime now, huh?” She chuckled, but no one else in the room seemed to find Kimberly’s humor appropriate. The room was silent for a long moment.
“Chyna, go to the bedroom, please,” Parker ordered harshly.
“But– “
“If you value your front teeth, I’d do as he says, lady, because I want to blow them the fuck out,” this Onyx sneered.
Charisse dashed to the guest room until her sister passed and then came out by the doorway because the library door was now opened.
“I’m really sorry, Parker. Did I interrupt something?“
“Why are you here?” Onyx asked abruptly.
“I came to give Charisse her sweater.”
“Where’s Charisse?”
“Wouldn’t I like to know?” Kimberly asked peeking back out in the hallway. “She’s around here?”
“Is she?” that woman asked suspiciously. “Or were you listening at the door the whole time?”
“I was listening at the door.”
Charisse breathed a sigh of relief, but wondered how did that other lady know. ‘Who was this woman?’
“Parker,” Kimberly said. “You don’t look well.”
He didn’t say anything to that. Instead, he just excused himself and stormed down the stairs and out of the door. She heard his vehicle burn rubber as he left.
Charisse could just imagine the frustration and pain he felt and felt horrible. Of course Chyna didn’t tell him the whole story and now that it was all said and done, Charisse didn’t know if she wanted Parker to know the truth as to why she agreed to have the baby.
‘Do you still want to kill yourself?’ Charisse asked herself.
She didn’t know if she wanted to ask herself this question.
“I don’t know why you’re lying, but you better be glad you’re Jaelen’s wife.”
Kimberly sighed. “Onyx, whether I was Jaelen’s wife or not, you couldn’t hurt me. I’m just sweet as pie. Isn’t that what your brother said?”
Onyx groaned. “Don’t you have some kids to raise or something? Why are you interrupting my client meeting?”
“Parker’s my friend too.”
“You know lady, it’s only because you’re performing your wifely duty correctly to my best friend, that I won’t hurt a hair on your head. Hell, I’ll even take a bullet for your ass, but if you stick your nosey ass around again, I’m going to do a little forgetting.”
Kimberly snorted overdramatically. “You know, Onyx one day you’re going to meet a man and have to perform your wifely duty. I hope you get as much pleasure out of it as I do.”
“Out!” Onyx barked.
Leaving out, Kimberly motioned for Charisse to go toward the stairs. “Mark my words, Onyx Heart.“
The library door slammed in Kimberly’s face and she wasn’t the least upset as she followed Charisse up the stairs.
“Who is that woman?” Charisse asked as soon as they were upstairs.
“Onyx Heart. The woman I warned you never to cross paths with.”
“You did and lived to tell about it.”
“That’s really because I’m married to Jaelen. That’s his best friend.”
“She’s scary.”
“You have no idea. I could tell you things I’ve seen that woman do that would make you want to have Lucifer as a friend rather than her.”
“Did she make a deal with the devil to find out all the stuff about us?”
Taking a deep breath, Kimberly told Charisse all about Onyx Heart, the best information expert and the most lethal woman on the planet.

Parker wasn’t sure how long he had drove around, but he ended up at his new building where his offices were slowly being remodeled.
Two months ago, he’d halted the construction until he could concentrate more on it, but knew after meeting with Thaddeus, he’d soon start it up again.
So many things went over his mind and he couldn’t concentrate long about it. The bottle of Jack Daniels was clutched in his hands and he waited until he was ensconced inside his office before he began guzzling the bottle. Jaelen called his phone, but he didn’t want to speak to anyone.
The pain he was feeling was his own to bear and he didn’t want to hear Jaelen say ‘I told you so,’ because it would be true and Parker had really married into a fucked up family.
But now he had a baby coming and he knew he wanted to raise this child – his child, but now he knew he couldn’t stay with Chyna as his mother.
Yet, just because he wasn’t raised to even think about divorce, he didn’t know how he could handle divorcing her.
There was an old dusty leather couch, which he flopped his thick body on and tipped the bottle up some more. As he adjusted to get comfortable, he dug down into his long trench coat and pulled out two more bottles.
He would drown himself. Maybe get alcohol poisoning to erase everything he was feeling just so he could get a clear head.
Right now, he couldn’t think straight.

“Charisse!” Chyna hissed.
She sat up startled and looked up at her sister.
“Put your coat and shoes on,” Chyna ordered.
“Why?”
“Don’t ask.”
Rochelle opened the door to her room looking worried.
Chyna looked instantly remorseful. “I’m sorry to have awakened you,” she said sympathetically to the nurse. “My husband hasn’t come home and I’m getting worried. I wanted Charisse to ride with me around to see if I could find him. I didn’t want to go by myself.”
“Should we call the police?” Rochelle asked.
Charisse knew her sister well enough now to know she was lying.
“No,” Chyna said.
“I’ll put some clothes on,” Charisse said.
“No!” Chyna said abruptly. “Please just come right away, Charisse.”
“I don’t– “
“Charisse!” Chyna urged impatiently.
Hearing the desperate tone, Charisse put her shoes on and on the way out as she followed her sister, she grabbed the long coat Parker had gave her a while ago.
When they got in the car, Chyna handed her a comb after putting the car in drive. “Put your hair down and comb it through.”
“Why? Why’d you lie about Parker? Is he home?”
“He’s not at home.”
“What if he comes home?”
“He won’t come home. He’s at his new warehouse. I found him after driving around for the past three hours and he’s clearly drunk to the bone. Now do your hair. You don’t have my length, but he’s too drunk to know the difference.”
“What are you talking about it?”
“We’re going to have to get the plan together. You’re going to have to have sex with him whether you want to or not. He’s drunk enough and it’s dark enough. The condition is perfect and if he wakes up tomorrow morning, he’ll still hate me, but at least he won’t be sexually frustrated.”
“Are you crazy?! I can’t!” There was no way Chyna knew her issues were dissolved, but to just take a leap of touching. Chyna was telling her to have sex with her husband.
“You have to Charisse. We’ll lose him. He’ll wake up tomorrow with a hangover and he’ll pack his things and leave me and go to her!”
“You don’t know that. Plus he said he won’t walk away unless you do it first.”
“He’ll lose face, but that isn’t what’s going to hurt him the most. The fact that he’ll be lonely Charisse. I need you to do this.”
“You can’t force me to be with your husband.”
“Please, Charisse. Just until the baby is born and this can start the process.”
“You’re insane. You’re more insane than anyone locked up at any facility I’ve ever seen. I can’t sleep with your husband, Chyna!”
“PLEASE CHARISSE!
Tears that were welling in Chyna’s eyes burst forth. “You have to help me! You have to make him happy for once in his life. Dammit!”
Yes, her sister had lost her mind, but dammit, Charisse was fighting her own desire to do as her sister wanted.
“Let’s just check on him,” she said coolly, praying she wouldn’t need a pair of extra underwear.

By the second bottle Parker realized it wasn’t the fact that he wanted to divorce his wife that bothered him.
He had a perfect reason to set her away from him the moment she cheated with Pascal, but that had not given him the strength to leave.
It wasn’t even the shit Onyx had uncovered that had made him so terribly frustrated about now.
It was the damn fact that he wanted to have sex with his sister-in-law.
“Not Cheyenne!” he rumbled out loud holding the bottle up in the air. “The other one! Dammit!”
Some liquor spilled out and he cursed foully and forced himself to stand up and take off his shirt and pants. There was an electric heater in the room and the place had power to it. Since it was his dime, he cut it on high and then removed all his clothes down to his boxers and plopped on the couch.
No sense messing up good clothes and then waking up with a hangover and smelling like he’d took a bath in liquor inside and out.
“Fuck you, Charisse! I don’t want to have sex with you!” he bellowed, but this was a lie. He wanted to touch her, kiss that tender virgin skin, lick those full breasts and suckle on the essence that no man had ever tasted.
Slamming his fist into the wall, he felt the wood splinter and knew he’d feel it in the morning, but hurting himself would be better than going home and doing what his body wanted.
“Parker?” her soft voice came from the doorway worriedly.
She was dressed in a nightgown and a long coat. Her hair was down and she looked like an angel. No a temptress that instantly had his body responding.
Fuck! He was dreaming! He was dreaming, but it felt so damn real.
He dropped the bottle out of his hand, because he knew he had drunk just enough to stay in this dream and he would. He would fulfill every fantasy he had of that luscious body Charisse Sheridan chose to give to no man. He would take and take until she screamed for mercy and then he’d take some more.
Using the back of his hand to wipe his mouth, he walked to her. She didn’t move. She only looked up at him with great concern, but he’d turn that concern into desire quickly.
‘Just this time. Don’t wake up, Parker. Don’t wake up!’
Chapter 26
Charisse had to tell her sister to shut up because Chyna was talking about ‘doing it’ just too much. The thought of doing anything with Parker brought that familiar sick – but not sick – feeling to her whole body and her mind was flashing erotic pictures from that stupid book. Why’d she have to keep looking at that book and why couldn’t she even remember what the models look like anymore?
‘Because all you can do is think of doing it with him!’
‘Who said doing it anymore?’ she wondered to herself as they pulled in front of a two story mini-mall still under construction.
“By now he should be well toasted,” Chyna said.
“We’re just going to check on him – together, Chyna!” Charisse stressed.
“No. I’ll stay here. He doesn’t want to see me. He’s too angry and my presence will only make it worse.”
“I can’t go in there by myself!”
“Charisse, he likes you. He likes you better than he likes me about now. And we need him to calm down at least a little to return home. You go in there and check on him, and I’ll stay here and wait.”
Reluctantly Charisse agreed to this plan as she got out the car, letting her sister tell her how to get inside.
Chyna handed her Parker’s extra set of keys and then told Charisse the electronic code to get in the office. He hadn’t even bothered to close the door to his car or park straight. She closed the door to the car and went inside the building, giving her sister a last look that clearly said she’d be right back.
This didn’t look good and maybe they had finally pushed Parker to a point of no return.
‘You have to make this better Charisse. Somehow assure him that everything was all right. Make him concentrate on the baby and business. That always seemed to cheer him up.’
It was a sweet gesture and she confidently walked into the office, but then was very concerned seeing a grown man dressed only in his skivvies shouting incoherently at the ceiling.
The glow of the heater gave the room a majestic orange romantic haze.
She couldn’t look away. This was the most skin on a man she’d ever seen and it was gorgeous - rich dark chocolate with massive lumps of hard muscle in all the right places. And then her eyes lingered on the hump between his legs already growing as he faced her while dropping the bottle.
She hadn’t seen that part, but she had tasted it and she could still remember the hotness on her tongue. Just as he was wiping the liquor off his mouth by the back of his hand, she was licking her lip and swallowing the excess moisture that was gathering in her mouth as she stared at him.
‘Get your head together!’ she snapped.
“Parker, are you okay?” she asked looking up at him.
He only smiled lazily and then suddenly drew her in his arms molding her body against his chest. Automatically her arms came up to his chest and instantly she was very aware how hard his body was and there was so much heat radiating off of it, perspiration licked up her body along with the lust that shuddered down to her bones.
Before she could adjust to being touched like that, his mouth came down on top of hers and she felt like he was sucking the wind out of her body. Her protest came out as a moan, but she really had been trying to tell him to stop, but her mouth wouldn’t form the word. His tongue then pressed between her lips feeling wet and intense as his hand came up and tilted her head upward to part her lips to give him more access and then he was dipping his tongue deeply into her mouth.
‘YOU ARE KISSING PARKER MILLS!!!!’
And it burned alright! All over her body delicious sultry fires licked under her skin as if her blood had been turned to lava and she should have just evaporated in the heat, but she didn’t.
This couldn’t be right for her to feel so good and want to feel so hot.
Her senses were still in shock, when he broke the kiss to let out some embattled war cry. “I’m okay now!” he said.
She came to her good judgment and tried to push away from him, but his thick brawny arms tightened around her waist. “Let me go, Parker. I just came here to check on you.”
“And you’re feeding right into my fantasy. You know that?”
“What fantasy?” she asked confused.
“This!” he said as if it were obvious. “I’m dreaming.”
“You’re not dreaming.”
He leaned down and kissed her again.
Charisse didn’t realize that kissing could be so involved and mind consuming. Whenever she had looked at Parker’s lips before, she hadn’t noticed how soft and versatile they could be and then his tongue… lawd, in heaven! The man had a way with that muscle that could make a woman lose her mind.
This time the kiss was longer and even more passionate, making her feel drunk or at least someone had given her some mad drugs that made her feel light as air.
But that wasn’t the case and when she opened her eyes breathless as he broke the kiss again, it was to realize Parker had lifted her off the ground. He didn’t let out another war cry, but he looked as if he had won the lottery.
“If I wasn’t dreaming you wouldn’t let me kiss you like that,” he said knowingly as he moved over to the couch and laid her down, but his body moved over hers.
She knew getting hysterical with him would only provoke him into doing what he wanted to do. He was drunk and obviously this wasn’t the reasonable thoughtful Parker she was worki
ng with.
This was a man on the edge with a lot of liquor in him from the empty bottle down by the couch and the partially drunken one he’d put down when he’d seen her.
It was just like handling a crazy patient and she felt if she stayed reasonable he’d see her reasoning. That is if she could just keep her wits about her, but that was only if he could stop kissing her.
“You’re drunk,” she reprimanded him.
“You’re beautiful.”
Saying things like that needed no kissing at all to coddle her to do his will and when he leaned down to kiss her again, she was very receptive to it loving this dream that wasn’t a dream, but a dream to him. This time he took his time as if he wanted to kiss her all day and she found that maybe the taste of liquor was better coming from his mouth than a bottle.
When he broke the kiss this time, his sensual brown eyes danced with a lot of pleasure. “I could kiss you all day, Charisse Sheridan.” He caressed her face and then kissed her cheek where he had touched and then kissed her neck.
She fought the luscious sensation sweeping over her, building up especially between the junction of her thighs. “We shouldn’t be kissing at all, Parker Mills.”
Between pauses of kisses, he said, “I pride myself on being the best kisser, but I haven’t used my talents in so damn long, I think I’ve lost my touch.”
Curious as to why he’d make that statement, she asked, “Why do you think that?”
“Because by now you should have lost your mind.”
Charisse was feeling so deliciously from his kisses, she couldn’t help to laugh. “I think I lost my mind a long time ago, Parker.”
Hungrily his lips captured hers and she swore he knew how to kiss a trillion different ways because no kiss he gave her felt the same and it evoked even more lust from her soul. “I love your laugh, Charisse.” He frowned confused. “This feels so real. I don’t ever want to wake up.”
“Parker!” she said impatiently, but a giggle escaped with her exasperation. “You aren’t dreaming.”
“Prove it!” he challenged, descending down to plant eager kisses on her neck.
She pinched him in his shoulder although it was tough drawing up skin since the man was so unbelievably muscular, but obviously part of the thoughtful Parker was in him, because somehow in all that kissing, he was straddling her waist and holding his weight off of her.
